Size Guide
We know that picking the right size shade for your lampshade can feel incredibly overwhelming when there are so many different sizes to choose from, but please do not worry - we are here to help!
There really are no rules when it comes to picking the right size lampshade, often it is down to your taste. But, if you would like something a little more technical for a table lamp, the base diameter of your lampshade is usually two thirds the size of your lamp base.
The easiest way to pick the right size shade for your lamp is to find other lampshades of a similar size in your home and test whether you think they look right.
Shade Sizes

Tiny 4.5”and 6” shades:
Our 4.5” or 6” shades are usually perfect for wall mounted lights; they come with a candle clip fixture and sit on top of the bulb. The 6” shade can also be used with a small lamp of up to 25cm in height.

Small 8” shade:
We love the 8” shade with lamps up to 30cm tall. These small shades work perfectly as bedside lights and are also excellent on slim consoles as they don’t take up much space! An 8” shade is also suitable with a wall light - we would only recommend this if the wall light is a single arm fitting and there is lots of space in the room.

Medium 10”and 12” shades:
These are a very versatile size of shades - they work best with lamps that are about 45cm tall. They can work with a minimum base size of 35cm and a maximum size of about 55cm if the lamp is tall and thin. If you have a wide lamp base, 15cm or over we’d advise you move to a large shade size.

Large 14”and 16” shades:
We love our large shades on sizeable table lamps in living rooms or wide hallways. They suit lamps that have a wider base diameter and are 45cm or to 60cm in height. They look wonderful as pendant lights in rooms and hallways and are also perfect for standing lamps too.

Extra Large 18” and 20” shades:
Our largest shades, these make a fantastic impact. These extra-large lampshades suit lamps that are around 65cm in height and 20cm in width, as well as lamps that are much smaller and wider, for example ones that are 40cm in height and 30cm in width. They look wonderful as pendant lights in large rooms too.
